At Well Born Baby, we provide experienced, nonjudgmental birth doula support for families throughout Philadelphia, the Main Line, Chester County, surrounding Southeastern Pennsylvania communities, and Northern Delaware.

Led by Christina Duff, CD(DONA), CLC, MS, Well Born Baby brings more than 20 years of experience and support at more than 1,800 births. Christina has supported families through unmedicated births, epidurals, inductions, VBACs, planned and unplanned Cesarean births, twins, and a wide range of low and high risk pregnancies.  Christina Duff is a Carrot pre-approved birth doula.

Our philosophy is simple: your body knows how to give birth, your baby knows how to be born, and our role is to help you feel informed, prepared, confident, and supported throughout the experience.

There is no one “right” way to give birth. Your birth should reflect what feels right for you.

A birth doula provides continuous informational, emotional, and physical support throughout pregnancy, labor, birth, and the immediate postpartum period.

Your doula is there to help you understand what to expect, explore your options, prepare questions for your care team, and feel confident making decisions throughout your pregnancy and birth.

During labor, your doula provides continuous support with comfort measures, positioning, movement, massage, relaxation, breathing techniques, and other coping strategies. We also support your partner, helping them feel confident and involved without expecting them to remember everything you learned during pregnancy.

We work alongside your nurses, physicians, and midwives while respecting their clinical roles. Our role is not to make medical decisions for you or speak on your behalf. Instead, we help you understand your options, ask informed questions, and communicate your preferences with your care team.

One of the most important things to understand about working with Well Born Baby is that our relationship doesn't begin when labor starts.

Questions often arise throughout pregnancy, especially as your due date gets closer.

What should you expect at the end of pregnancy? When should you go to the hospital? What happens if your water breaks before contractions begin? What if you go past your due date? What should you know about induction? When might you consider an epidural? What positions can help during labor? What should you include in your birth preferences?

Having an experienced doula means having someone you can reach out to as those questions arise.

Our foundational in person birth doula package includes pregnancy support, group prenatal meetings, educational resources, continuous labor and birth support, backup coverage, immediate postpartum and breastfeeding support, and continued support after your baby arrives.

Everything included with Essential Birth Support, plus your choice of one private prenatal or postpartum meeting.

Your prenatal meeting can focus on preparing for labor, signs of labor, when to go to the hospital, what happens if your due date passes, what to do if your water breaks, comfort measures, birth preferences, and questions for your provider.

A postpartum meeting provides time to process your birth, discuss newborn and new parenting questions, and receive additional breastfeeding or feeding support.

Everything included with Essential Birth Support, plus both a private prenatal meeting and a private postpartum meeting.

Everything included with Complete Birth Support, plus one additional private prenatal or postpartum meeting based on your individual needs.

Our most comprehensive level of support combines individualized education with experienced birth doula care.

Premier includes everything in Complete Birth Support, plus private Childbirth Education and private Breastfeeding Education before your baby arrives.

This package is especially helpful for first time parents who want the consistency of receiving their prenatal education, birth preparation, labor support, and breastfeeding education from the same experienced professional.

Not every family needs or wants a doula physically present during labor.

Designed for families who want individualized preparation and access to experienced doula guidance throughout pregnancy, labor, and early postpartum, without in person attendance at their birth.

This option includes a private prenatal meeting, ongoing phone, email, and text support throughout pregnancy, access to our client education resources, remote phone and text guidance during labor, and a private postpartum follow up.

It can be a good fit for families who feel comfortable managing labor independently but still want an experienced resource available for preparation, questions, and guidance.

Well Born Baby is pleased to offer birth doula support with a Carrot approved doula. If your employer provides fertility, pregnancy, or family building benefits through Carrot, your doula services may be eligible for reimbursement or coverage through your Carrot benefit.

Christina Duff is an approved Carrot doula provider, giving eligible families the opportunity to use their employer sponsored Carrot benefits toward experienced birth support, depending on the terms of their individual plan.

Because benefits and reimbursement requirements vary, we recommend confirming your specific doula coverage directly through your Carrot account. We’re happy to provide the documentation you may need for reimbursement.
